A book date x Yorksinstameet at Castle Howard + competition

I’ve not checked out the wonderful stately house Castle Howard (erected on a former armed forces castle for this reason the name) for many years and years, so it was rather the treat to return to York last month of what was a book excursion date slash tiny break with my parents for 2 days in Yorkshire.

I was back ‘home’ for the current Yorksinstaeet run by creative mums Lou of Peony and Grace, Caroline of Flohr & Co and Victoria of The Yorkshire home job who’d kindly invited me to speak at their 75 strong event and also stay at Castle Howard’s Librarian’s Cottage, a elegant country abode within the estate which because of being far from a network, supplied me with a digital detox to boot and a breather from my busy schedule. Excitingly, you can win a stay at the cottage at the bottom of the post.

It truly was an enriching time as I hung out with my folks, mainly enjoying telly round the fire, feasting on vegan dishes my daddy conjured up (the whole family’s gone plant-based publish The game Changers movie) and I similarly had the chance to connect and reconnect with fellow mumbosses up North, some I’ve understood considering that my institution days (hey Annabel of fabulous This Mummy Loves) and others I’d touched base with throughout the years on the internet and now, in genuine life.

Sharing the lessons I’ve discovered (mostly chosen up from those far wiser than me, like my therapist) and going over the lows and the highs, the adversity with the joys of juggling parenting and running your own service but vitally the flexibility versatile work brings, was, as it always is, so deeply rewarding. say thanks to you to Fox Lane books as well for selling MUMBOSS-How to make it through and prosper at work and at Home, too.

(Fab to see Ali Mortimer of Heal yourself delighted in the eco-friendly blouse again too).

Shout out to the joyous skill that is Charlotte Nelson of Charlotte Nelson photography and incredibly skilled Emma White of The Jewellery makers for my sensational silver engraved sincere pendant and quite earrings I’ve used on the box twice before.

Much like to my friend Karen of busy mum of two kids who was fantastic support and even discovered me signal in a close-by supermarket carpark when I went online on BBC Radio 5 online after the event!

Quick phone snap not by Charlotte below!

(Thanks to Paisie London for gifting me this gorge monochrome wrap dress).

I hadn’t knew exactly how much I’d missed Yorkshire up until I was back again to be honest. I’d had a fleeting go to to Leeds the week before for a incredibly event with Meatless farm where I was interviewed on the terrific Katie Piper’s podcast, but I left feeling like I needed a lot more time with my family. This time, was a best pause, and it’s motivated me to change plans to go abroad for Christmas and head back to Leeds again.

Thank you so much to all who came and to Yorksinstameet and Castle Howard for their hospitality and generosity.
