A Christmassy weekend in Liverpool

Last Saturday we got up early at 6am (what’s new) as well as set off to the former European funding of culture (2008), the absolutely gorgeous Liverpool for busy chestnut smelling- Christmas markets as well as Ice celebration fun in the centre.

I even got to see a few quite Scouse women rocking curlers in their hair during daylight hours!

Aw, hi Liverpool. We just love, love, like you!

I really got a location to checked out English at Liverpool Uni however chose Goldsmiths’, university of London instead as the lure of the funding was just as well much for me, however I did autumn head over heels for  Merseyside the minute I stepped off the train all those years back as well as that adoration has never diminished.

Since moving back to Leeds a few years back, we frequently take the youngsters as well as spend a day or a long the weekend in the city where whatever is pretty, clean as well as well quite much life affirming. Liverpool makes us happy. There is just something there, for everyone. The people are friendly as well as kind as well as it doesn’t hurt that the buildings are so breathtakingly gorgeous as well as Liverpool did of program provide birth to the Beatles as well as Brookside. What’s not to love?

I attempt you not to delight in yourself there. It’s just not possible.

So this is what we did last Saturday:

First up, we danced with the crowds (above) to Christmas carols (enhanced by a charming snow device drifting from an open shop window) producing our extremely own snow-scape, lastly reaching the Liverpool Christmas Market for fudge, hand painted Christmas tree ornaments as well as lemon et sucre crepes all round. Oh as well as Mr robot man…

A area of buying later (hello over the knee boots from Dune) as well as oh so attractive figure hugging LBD’s from miss Selfridge,  we zoomed up an escalator into the chilly outside breeze of the epic, jaw dropping Ice celebration at Chavasse Park. WOW!

A winter season wonderland that refrained from tack (really) we were ushered into Santa’s workshop by Snow Queens on stilts for crafting Christmas card making as well as deal with painting. It was the most fun I’ve had in ages. The queue to really satisfy Santa was as well long however Oliver didn’t seem to mind!

The bit dude likewise relished in having his deal with painted “A bee please” he asked as well as wondered with Liverpool so puffed up as well as happy of his new deal with as well as all the interest he was getting, it was adorable.

Then (I know, we packed a great deal in) we went to floor after floor of strange as well as fantastic exhibits at the world Museum, a haven for little minds as well as huge youngsters with whatever from dinosaurs to sea creatures, Egyptians, magic worlds as well as more. I couldn’t suggest this sufficient as well as we look ahead to returning once again as well as again. ideal for inquisitive minds like Oliver’s as well as mobile infants (Alexander) keen for the tactile as well as visual experience it so vividly provides.

A quick dinner at Pizza reveal complied with with a last minute return back to the Ice celebration by night in it’s all its Christmas shimmer glory to trip (very fast) teacups as well as view other’s (far braver than us) ice skate, before the moon lit our method back to the car.

A really wondrous, fun filled, joyful weekend for all.

So, have you went to Liverpool yet?
