Online community of health conscious consumers helps “Life…supplemented” Donate to Vitamin Angels

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 30, 2010 – The “Life…supplemented” campaign has donated $10,000 to international charity Vitamin Angels, a nonprofit organization dedicated to offering micronutrients to children in need around the world. As part of the “Life…supplemented” campaign’s America’s wellness challenge Sweepstakes, CRN donated $1.00 for the first 10,000 consumers who took the totally free on-line wellness tool My wellness Scorecard during the sweepstakes period.

“I would like to thank the “Life…supplemented” campaign for helping Vitamin Angels to reach children all over the world and giving them a chance for a healthier life,” said Vitamin Angels founder & president Howard Schiffer.

The “Life…supplemented” campaign built buzz around America’s wellness challenge by reaching health conscious consumers through a variety of social media channels including Twitter under wannaBwell, updates on its Facebook page, and through the campaign’s website. Guiding the campaign’s social media initiative was the “Life…supplemented” social media Advisory Board, a group of seven influential bloggers with an interest in wellness issues: Andrea Metcalf, fit Today; Cascia Talbert, healthy Moms; Christine Peterson, Foresight; Danielle Omar, Food Confidence; Jenn Fowler, prudent Upstate; Liz Scherer, Flashfree; and Sheryl Kraft, HealthyWomen.org.
